Baby Girl Found Crawling on Sidewalk Police Seek Parents of Abandoned Infant

Newton Area Detectives

WHY: An abandoned baby girl was found in LAPD’s Newton Area on the evening of August 25, 2008. The baby was crawling on a sidewalk in the area of 25th Street and Broadway. Newton Area patrol officers took the infant into custody and the baby is now under the care of the Los Angeles County Department of Child and Family Services.

Although several witnesses have already been interviewed, the baby’s parents have not been identified. The baby is Hispanic and approximately six months old. She appears healthy and well cared for.
